Dr. Jonathan O’Brien – High-Risk Pregnancy Doctor in New Jersey

Dr. Jonathan O’Brien is a dedicated Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist at New Jersey Perinatal Associates, bringing compassionate care and expertise to his patients since 2013. Originally from Newport, Rhode Island, Dr. O’Brien earned his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine. His passion for maternal-fetal medicine was sparked during his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, where he witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of medical care during pregnancy.

Driven by a desire to support families during what can be both a joyous and challenging time, Dr. O’Brien pursued fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. There, he not only completed his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine but also earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2013.

Board-certified in both MFM and Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. O’Brien finds fulfillment in reassuring and supporting families from their initial consultation onward. He values the opportunity to alleviate anxieties and create comprehensive care plans that empower his patients.

Outside of medicine, Dr. O’Brien enjoys spending quality time with his three children, travel, sailing, and fishing.
